Slam Night

DescriptionI wrote this one after my first slam reading. I'd been dying to use "Between twin mirrors " ever since I saw that really cool bit in inception where Ariadne makes the bridge out of her own reflection. Let me know what you think people.

I wrote this one after my first slam reading. I'd been dying to use "Between twin mirrors " ever since I saw that really cool bit in inception where Ariadne makes the bridge out of her own reflection.

Words gathered, grown, lie in bundles,
Gardener’s gifts or scientist’s samples?
Carried gently past expectant faces,
Strive to flee parental pages.

The space vibrates with reinvention,
A realisation of an Escher etching.
Walls scramble, trembling, fleeing,
Between twin mirrors; reflections repeating.

The mic, Medusa, hisses, wriggles,
Mesh woven into shaman sigils.
Merge with double helix strands
To call out the sleeping sounds.

A voice meanders through my disassociation
Releasing syllables in a rocket’s reign.
The Countless days, through which they’ve slept,
Now ended in a mayfly moment.

Let me know what you think people - Good or bad.

Cheers as always!

Hi graeme !!

I enjoyed this, I especially liked the stanza that describes the mic, very creative use of words !!

The final stanza was a little hard to digest though for me, it seemed to move away from the flow of the rest of the piece ??

All in all though, a very enjoyable read !!

thanks for sharing,

Regards,

Steve.

Hi Graeme, I'm the first to admit that I'm clueless when it comes to poetry but I really liked this, particularly stanzas two and three.

Hi Graeme Mc A

An enjoyable piece

well done ;-D

GraemeMC,

Really enjoyed this, love the language you use. My favourite verse.......

The space vibrates with reinvention,

A realisation of an Escher etching.

Walls scramble, trembling, fleeing,

Between twin mirrors; reflections repeating.

I love Escher having lived in Holland for many years and paint in his style or somewhat like it myself. I also loved the idea of the walls trembling, fleeing and the twin mirrors, excellent work.thumbs up

 Maire x

Thank you all so much - your encouragement is highly motivating as ever!! Cheers
