There is a gift that we can give;
that money cannot buy.
You won't need eyes to see it
or hands to hold it high.

If you're lucky to receive it
You must guard it with your life
There are many copies out there
The real one is hard to find.

Treat it with tender loving care,
As tho' it were a precious pearl.
For what I speak of is FRIENDSHIP
So rare a find in this whole world.

Hi Smurf,  You are winning me over with your compliments and sense of humour, long may it continue.

This poem is different from my usual writes but as always it is from the heart.

As for the thousand lovers, well now, I wouldn't mind owning   a "little black book" lol

Hi Tiny,

I went through a period when I cut myself off from the world my words then were "the more I got to know people I developed a deep love for my pets.  Friends are indeed hard to find, however, I am finding them now here and now, may  I add you to my Christmas card list lol

Hi Steve, (TWYDEL)

Thank you Maire, I will try to keep that in mind.  You are precious.

Your friend Colette

Precious words Collette, almost touch the dew on your Pink Roses…A friend is someone who opens your heart to share your deepest joys, your deepest fears.

I remember some years back when I first started work here at the Child and Family Center, seeing on the office wall of Liz, CEO and founder, this quotation:

Tell me your hurt, I am here and my heart will listen…

Friends can be so many people from therapists to meeting a stranger for just one moment in time…

Recently I came across this poem on Friendship on the website of a Special Friend:

A friend is one to whom one may pour out all the contents

of one's heart - chaff and grain together - knowing that the

gentlest of hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth

keeping, and with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.

Anam Chara

Hello Anam Chara,

Through my life to date, I have come upon co workers who would stop at nothing to reach the top of the ladder that included "standing on the shoulders of friends"  I have also watched them on the way down, when they needed those friends.  Maybe that is what life is all about, LEARNING.  The lesson being caring for one another, I hope so.

I value your help and your friendship my Anam Chara.

A lovely blend of words and image here, colette...

And yes, money cannot buy many of the things that are most precious, and genuine friendship is a wonderful support in our lives, and  I think a rare and valuable thing...

Lovely words and thoughts here...

XX

Thanks for your kind words my friend.

Colette
