One Late Night on Nanticoke Street
DescriptionThis is a poem about a first date, specifically my first date with my fiance.

One late night on Nanticoke street
We lay beneath the stars
We touched the grass with our bare feet
And counted passing cars
two miles we walked at midnight
To stop by that small street sign
To lie by your side felt so right
The touch of your hand was divine
One late night on Nanticoke street
I stared into your eyes
A breeze was nice in summer heat
As we looked up to the skies
We talked so long of dreams
The sun was soon to rise
When a night so clearly gleams
We learn how fast time flies
One late night on Nanticoke street
I stood next to a man
He felt the race of my heartbeat
As our love story began
Side by side we lay that night
Watching the stars above
I knew then that I was right
Next to the man that I’d soon love
