Spring time poetry group,

the local rag carried the ad,

I wanted to see what interest lay,

and fine poetry talent we had.

The meeting was planed

for a Monday,

I was ready with tea

and thanks,

but nobody showed,

they were all down the road

discussing thier septic tanks.

Short and sweet!

A bit cliched I feel however.

A misspelling, 'add' is wrong, it should be 'ad'.

Nice rhyming though in it.

Reason this predicament is upon us is owing to one-off development permitted by local authorities over the years and the time has come to pay for it now.

Hi Robin

Something else to debate about I guess

Our Interests, they couldn't give a hoot about

We become their Interest coming around voting day.

Liked your piece

by the way ;-D

Hi Robin !!

Yep I sometimes wonder are we an elite cult ??

Poetry only seems to interest a small group......... Ive been looking for somewhere local to me that does poetry readings and groups,

but ive had no luck ......... its a shame !!!

Thank god for these sites !!!

An enjoyable read, thanks for sharing,

Regards,

Steve.

Thank you all for reading the ditty.

We must attempt to shed thechains of elitism,

bring poetry back to the people from all walks of life.

r.b.

HERE HERE !!!!

nodblinkrock onlol   And so say all of us !!!!

A "funny' kind of place poetry occupies - I feel anyway.

A poem like the one above could easily find its way into poetry slam if you've ver heard of it.

Then again if you like writing and composing a few ditties, here's the place to upload your work.
