Going to the desert

Trying to remember your name

Pondering your gift

Was it all in vain

The three wise monkey's

Light up their spliff's

Humans turn to lemming's

And gather at the clif'f's

Going to the desert

Trying to remember your name

Pondering your gift

Was it all in vain

Economist's play a hot tune

As the blind mice dance

As the beat builds

Everyone is caught in a trance

Going to the desert

Trying to to remember your name

Pondering your gift

Was it all in vain

They say,  they don't want blood

Tell that to the poor

When they gentrify their neighbourhood

Pondering his gift

Lord above forgive us

For our considerable shame

We know not what we do

We just play the game

Trying to remember his name

Pondering his gift

Was it all in vain

Hi Gerard !!

An interesting read, read more like a hymn than a prayer to me ? or a rap maybe !!

I enjoyed it though....... thanks for sharing,

Kind regards,

Steve.

Gerard,

Really enjoyable read, great lyrics for a song in my opinion, I can hear it to music and loved the idea of going to the desert, trying to remember his name, pondering his gift, was it all in vain.......great lines, great thoughts flow as I think about them as I wonder what the gift might have been.....water and his name, Abdul ......you have me thinking lol.thumbs up

thanks to everyone for their comments
