Childhood memories that drift away

Children must shut up

They have nothing to say

Going to school

Wearing an old coat today

Hide from the bullies

So they can't get in my way

Teachers wanting to help me read

Trying to sow

That learning seed

Stand up in class

Its your turn today

Now stand!  Read the words!  The words! 

Come on!  Oh go away!

I have no time

To teach you today

The bell rings

I'm going home

And well on my way

Quickly or the bullies

May catch me today

A sigh of relief

I'm quick they won't catch me, hooray

Tomorrow the same

Things will happen, you see

Happening to me
