Love Again Part Two

Chapter 4                                                                                                                   

my silettos clicked clacked up the stairs on my first day back to work. Tani was keeping a low profile. Lets just say, if i saw her i would strangle her. i marched into the familer office. i went to my desk. it was starting to get dusty so I blew dust off and plonked down in my swivel chair. I sighed as i turned on my computer. back to work i go. 

when i came out of the month-long say in the hospital i was allowed to stay at home for a week. boy did i savour that week! talk about always playing with my kids! all i did was spend time with the little mites. i could see it on hugh's face about how well i got on with them. he was the one who was jealous. but now it's me. we used to have an au-pair but then hugh lost his job. so it al relyed on me not to get fired and to make the money. i can still visulise hugh's smirk this morning as i drove out of the drive way. i shivered.damn him.

" hey!" shona squealed." what happened? we thought you died or something!" wow nice friend." listen" she continued "while you were gone Tani took your place here so i think you should go up to the manager about getting it back."

i fumed. 

"what?" i screamed.

"shhhhh! be quiet!"  shona hissed. but i ignored her and marched up too Mr selfridge's office. i banged the door open.

"why hello Mrs. bronze i was expecting you any minute now"

"huh?" i looked confused for a moment. why was he expecting me? but i decided not to ask. i got straight to the point.

"why did you do this to me?" i furied.

"you can have your place back" he said calmly 

"phew" i sighed. 

"but!!!......" he snapped.

i stopped and held my breath.

"just remember that Tani did exceptionally well in your position so don't think you're irreplacible"

i gulped.

" yes sir" i chanted. then marched quickly out before he could change his mind. i spotted Tani across the room. i was about to plunge a knife into her head when i thought something. i could be really nice to her. she would think i didn't know about the poison so she will go along with it to save her butt. then i could make up for all the suffering that shes caused me. i grinned. 

" hey Tani" i smiled.

she looked at me wiredly.

"hi Cathie i heard you were ill... what happened?"

"oh i think it was just too much drink" i winked and giggled. she giggled nervously back.

"anyway i was thing about going on a spa trip.... wanna come?" i asked in my sweetest voice.

"yhea o.k then sure!" she sounded reviled that i hadn't spilled the beans...... yet.

"meet me at cafe soul at lunch." i told her.

"o.k then"

"see yha"

"bye" i hurried back to my desk.

i stood at the door of my house. waiting for Tani to arrive so i could bring her to the spa place. it was called the rocky spa. it was in a remote town.we were going on Friday and coming back on Saturday morning. i saw tani's familer beetle come up the drive. i waved cheerfully then kissed my kids good bye.

"i'll be back tomorrow and then we can go to the zoo" i promised them. they squealed in delight then ran back inside.

"Bye Hugh" i kissed him goodbye.

"all set?" i asked Tani.

"yep got everything." Tani answered. 

i switched on the sat.nav. and smiled grimley at Tani. boy did hate I her or what. all she put me through. wow i didn't think she had it in her to attempt to kill friend. 

"so where is this spa exactly?" she asked.

"wexford" i answered through gritted teeth.

When we finally pulled up at the spa it was half two. we had hardly said a word to each other. they had marble floors and plush carpets with expensive chandeliers. we marveled at the pristine hallway then made our way up to reception, got a room(which was just as beautiful as reception) then went downstairs for some relaxing (or so Tani thought)  we were about to enter the tanning room when i said

"i gotta go to the toilet, go on without me." then rushed off before she could object. i snuck around the back. i knew that Tani would ask for "golden glow" so i quickley found that on the shelves then i found the darkest colour i could find ( which was "deeply deep" and mixed the two together in the "golden glow" packet. right phase 1 complete!

"hey" i said as i walked into the room. she smied then said to the lady behind me:

"i'll have golden glow please"

"i'll have african sun" i said. i liked the darker colours on my skin. she nodded then got the colours. i went in to the tanning machine first. then Tani went in. i smirked.

we waited for the tans to appear while sipping tea. then we took a long nap. 

a blood-curdling scream woke me up. it was Tani and she had fianally realised what happened.

"whoa!" i pretended to look shocked "what happened?"

"i don't bloody well know!" she fumed. 

"well" i said. then i looked at my watch. it was late. "i'm going to bed" i yawned then admired my tan. it was perfect. then i looked at Tani's. i shivered. she looked horrible.

Chapter 5

in the morning we got pedicures and manicures. Tani always had a dressing gown on because she was so embarssed about her tan. 

"i think we will stay for one more day" i agreed with Tani.

"hmph" Tani hadn't talked much since the tan. 

"how about we get our hair done?" 

'yhea sure" Tani mumbled. we walked through the many marble halls until we got to the salon.

"hello and welcome...... please sit" the lady gestured towards the plush chairs.

"mmmmmm..." i mumbled as i scanned through the options." i'll have the caramel coloured dye and chocolate highights please"

"oh i will just have a dark brown dye please" Tani asked. Thee lady nodded then went to get our dyes. 

"i think ill just ask for some.....um.......magazines" i ran off quickly to a back room stacked with hair essentials. i spotted the lady. she had he back to me. i snuck up behind her and quickly picked out the "firengine red" colour. then i mixed that with the dark brown dye.   i smirked. then grabbed a handful of magizines and wandered back in.

"they only had these" i said. Tani immediately grabbed one and started to flick through it.  the lady came back in, washed our hair and started to apply the dye. she then washed our hair again and dried it. when she dried Tani's hair she gave a llittle shriek and turned deep scarlet. Tani looked in the mirror to see what she was screaming about then screamed at the lady:

"NO ONE HERE CAN GET ANYTHING RIGHT! FIRST MY TAN NOW THIS!" she looked like a fire-engine. then she plonked down and started to weep.

"that went well. yep toatally" i thought to myself on the way back from the spa.

"how am I supposed to show Tyler this?" she whined pointing to her hair. 

I shrugged. "he will understand... don't worry sweetie he will"

she nodded then mumbled:" i hope" 

when we got back to my house, Kimmy and Cassie sprinted their tiny legs up to me. 

"hey kids!" i said as i kissed them both and picked them up. i rubbed it in to Tani that i had kids and she didn't. the little kids screamed when they saw Tani.

"ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! its a monster!" they shrieked. i giggled sheepishly to myself.

"geez what happened to you?" Hugh said in shock as he came out of the house.

"sweetie don't be rude" i said nudging him. 

 "sorry" he mumbled, not looking at her.

she looked with tears in her eyes down on the ground.

i grinned.

"well then..... eh.......i guess i'lll...em.... see you in work then" i murmured. Then waved as she drove away.

Hugh and i guawffed until Cassie wanted us to  fianally go to the zoo.

I took out my phone in the car and quietly started texting Tyler.

'hey' i wrote;' just bac 4rm spa haha cant wait till u c Tani :)' i pressed send and looked out the window of the city whipping by. beep beep. my phone buzzed telling me that i had a incoming message.  i opened it. it was from Tyler:

'y?'

i texted back:

'wait and c!'

Hugh cleared his throat.

"Who are you texting?"

"Tani" i said automatically. 

"elephant!" Kimmy screamed pointing out the window.

"yes" i smiled "elephant"

Chapter 6

When i walked into work on Monday Tani sat with tissues strewn across the desk. Everyone was giggling. 

"whats wrong?" i asked innocentely. i knew perfectly well what was wrong.

"T-t-t-t-t" she took a deep breath. "Tyler broke up with me..." she wailed then slumped against the table, crying into her arms.

i patted her back gingerly. "Erm.... i sorry.....for your loss" i choked the non-meaningful words out.

i then quickly made my way to my desk. After 4 hour of long gruelling work we took off to go to lunch.

I sighed then waited for Tani to finsh up.

"HURRY UP would you i'm starving!?"

She sniffed then mumbled " I never want to see him again." I looked around the office was completly empty. i guess i could go without lunch for a day.

i plonked down the listened to her babble on about how in-love they were . She was in the middle of a huge sentence when i cut in.

"I know you posined me." i whispered darkly.

She froze and inhaled quikly.

"W-w-what?"

"Why did you do it? Because i was speaking to him?"

" i dont know what your talking about" 

"Why Tani?... i know it was you"

"Poison you??...im your best friend why would i do that?"

"Because Tyler was flirting with me!"

"WHAT?!" The mood had gone from accusation to anger.

"I would NEVER do that!"

"well it was obviously you!!!!"

"you were not poisned you had to much to drink!"

"no! i was poisned." I wailed

"By who?"

I was beginning to think that she didnt do it.

"you..i thought"

"eh no!"

"WELL THEN WHO DID IT?"

"how am i supposed to know you think you know everything..."

There was an awkward silence, then i quickly packed up my things and flew out of the room, deep in thought. Tyler? did he do it? i thought up a few reasons why. maybe its because he ....? why would he do it i had nothing against him. i stopped quickly then flew to my turned-off computer. i switched it on and clicked onto the internet. i looked up the court case again and read more closely. His wife accused him of..... what?! posisning her, though there was no evidence she stuck to her story. My hand flew up to my mouth. HE DID IT! Tani was slowly eating lunch in the next office, staring into space... did she know? no. I highly doubt it. i gulped then switched off my computer, preparing to face Tyler, i silently crept out and raced to Cafe Sol. i slowed my breathing and i tried to calm myself down. i was so scared. Act Normal.

"hi" i spluttered.

"Hey... have you been running?" he raised his eyebrows. i saw the perfect outline of his jaw and the odd chissled scar and the - STOP!

" yhea, i heard about you and Tani..."

"Yhea she wasn't that into me,"

"poor you," i rubbd his sleeve and raced it back to my side as if i just just roasted it in flames. 

"one coffee please," i murmered, looking at my feet,

"sure,"

when he returned with the steaming coffee before he out it down on my able he handed me my recipt,

"its on me," he murmered,

"thank you!" my face broke into a grin, "why are you giving me the recipt?" he just smiled and dissapered. i studied it closely on the back was an address and a time, tonight. i went cold and got up quickly, this canot be good, i thought
