Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy - Online Course

Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy is an access anytime course for aspiring young writers of all ages, focusing on science fiction and fantasy, and designed by SF author Jeffrey A. Carver.

The course has a long and varied existence, beginning as an "interactive TV show, broadcast via satellite into middle school classrooms as part of a publicly funded distance-learning network..." and later being recreated and expanded as a module in "a home-study CD-ROM called Studyworks Science".

The version of the course now online has be further revised and is offered free "as a public service to young aspiring writers."

The course covers all the fundamentals of good writing in general, and good science fiction and fantasy writing in particular, including characterisation, worldbuilding and plot. Well worth checking out.
