Writing4all Member Tommy Murray has just won the prestigous 'Poet of Fingal' trophy. The award was presented by Cllr. Ken Farrell at a ceremony in the Carnegie Court Hotel, Swords. This was the Trim poet's third time to win this competition. Well done, Tommy.

A gentle reminder that the deadline for the third round of this year's Writing Spirit Award is 30th September. The competition is open to all nationalities and all genres. Entry fee is €7 per story and €7 per collection of poems (minimum of 4 poems, maximum of 10 poems). The prize winning stories, along with 17 merited stories will be published in an anthology at the end of the competition. The prize winning collections of poems, along with other merited poems will be published in a separate anthology when the competition has concluded. The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay kicks off in 1939 and tells the story of Josef Kavalier's escape from German occupied Czechoslovakia with the sacred symbol of the Jewish people, the Golem. It also tells the story of Sam Clay, a young boy growing up in New York, and cousin to Josef. The two meet in New York when Josef's sojourn branches away from that of the Golem.
