Congratulations Helen

Thanks Dec.  Great to get a bit of recognition.

Cheers,

Helen.

Wow - well done, Helen! : ]

Good news, Helen. Well done. ;-)

Fantastic Helen.  Well done!

Congratulations Helen.. Some buzz eh?!

Seaview, Cheeno, Buttercup & Buffalo thank you all for your good wishes.

To have something published gives  great encouragement and an impetus to keep slogging away.   I agree it is a great buzz.

So now I think its time to  take my heads out of the clouds and get back to writing.

Cheers,

Helen.

Warmest congratulations to you on this success, may it be a seed of more to come.

Thank you Peter for your good wishes.  Yes, it has given me the spur to keep at it.

Cheers

Helen.

Helen, well done my friend. I am in the same edition and in previous ones also. My name is Maire Morrissey-Cummins. I must look for yours now, wonderful that we are in the same publication. I am not one bit surprised Helen:)))) Maire

Hi Marie,

Thank you for your kind words.  I came across your name in the Shamrock journal, and  enjoyed reading  your work.  You have become  very adept at the Haiku form.

It is a great feeling seeing your work in print, it boosts the confidence no end.  It is also good to be among friends in these publications.

I think we owe a lot of thanks to the writing4all site, this is where we got the feedback, the constructive criticism  and encouragement that gave us the push to take our work to the next level.

Hopefully success will continue to come our way.

So onwards and upwards.

Kind regards,

Helen.

Helen, sincerest congratulations. It is great news to hear. Well done.

Bobby

Helen, that is great news - I am really pleased for you.

Bobby & Aine,

Thank you  for your kind  comments.

It's a great feeling being published, and while I know my poetry won't set the world on fire, I enjoy writing it and my hope is that readers can take something from it and enjoy reading it.

Kind regards to you both,

Helen

Helen my heartiest congratulations.  I've been looking at that announcement for a while, but had no idea that Helen 46 was Helen Simcox, though you probably told me in Listowel.  Well done in getting published in Shamrock and Stactic. Actually 6 of my poems have been accepted in Poetry II Anthology with Static, so we'll probably be in the same anthology.

Actually Helen, I posted a Haiku yesterday on listening to Mozart's music and I did two Haikus in the one post.  If you get a chance could you tell me which one you think is better.  I think I recall Seaview saying on one of the comment threads, that in Haiku, the poet is not allowed to comment, and I have the I in one of them.

Once again Helen, great news. Rachael

Hi Rachael,

Thanks Rachael for your kind words.

I'm just back form my son's graduation in Chester  and have only now read your  comment and your Haiku.

I attended a Haiku workshop with Gabriel Rosenstock recently  and one of the things he said was there is no room for the ego in the Haiku, you mut not put yourself into it.   It must be about nature and have a season word in it or else it isn't a Haiku.     About syallable count he said there must not be more than 17 syallables and not necessarily 5-7-5,  you can have as little as you want.  He also told us Haiku is not poetry,  there should be no poetic phrases, rhyme or alliteration, use plain language and avoid abstraction, no capitalisation or punctuaiton.

We had to take 10 Haiku to have them workshopped and he said only two of mine were Haiku, two were Senyru and the others had too many adjectives or adverbs or were too abstract!

Senyru is about human foibles and can be humourous

I hope this is helpful to you Rachael.

Well done on getting into the Static Anthology, I look forward to reading your poems.   Good luck with your writing.

Kind regards

Helen.

Hi Helen,

I've to type my comment again, because I stupidly clicked reply instead of save as I usually do and deleted my comment.  Hope you had a nice time at your son's graduation.  Lucky you being at a Haiku workshop with Gabriel Rosenstock.  Isn't he the actor, and I think he used to be in Glenroe?

Looking forward to reading your poems also in Static. Rachael

Congratulations Helen, well done.

Paddy

Thank you Paddy

Helen.
