Free poetry Workshop with Máighréad Medbh

How do you get from the initial inspiration to the completed poem? How does the numinous moment become a luminous verbal construct?

This workshop will look at how poems are distilled from experience. If you’re already writing, you’ll be asked for your wisdom and will benefit from that of others. If you’re a beginner, various methods will be suggested.

Participants are invited to bring along their own inspiring moment or epiphany and begin the process of verbal distillation within the space created by the workshop.

Date: Thursday: 6th October 2011

Venue: Balbriggan Library, George’s Square, Balbriggan Co. Dublin.

Time: 6pm to 8pm

Workshop Title: The Making of a Poem

To book, please phone Balbriggan Library at: 01 8704401 / 8704402

I watched Máighréad perform at an Open Mic in Greystones in the summer, she was wonderful. I bought her books, excellent writer. I cannot make her workshop but would definately advise anyone who can to attend.
