A massive congratulations to Claire M. O'Neill (Bernie) on reaching the longlist for the Sean O'Faolain shortlist. Bernie's story, "The Vegetable Man" is one of seventeen stories now in contention to win the €1,500 first prize.

Dublin has been designated as a UNESCO City of Literature, one of only four in the world. This rare accolade recognises Dublin's cultural profile and its international standing as a city of literary excellence. The announcement was made at Dublin's Grand Canal Theatre this morning.
