Hello one and all.
My name is unimportant and so is my history in general. I have no real flare for writing and like most find it very difficult to turn the images in my head into words on paper.
To tell the truth it has been many years since i last wrote anything beyond some emails to friends or the countless cover letters accompanying the almost innumerable c.v's on their pointless journey to the rejection bin. A place im sure any novels i churn out are destined for. After all one of the rules of writing is that there will always be more rejection than praise.
Of course back when i was doing some small amount of writing for myself it was in school and mostly it was done out of boredom. We were meant to be writing so i wrote. I just found my writing more interesting than what I was supposed to be jotting down. Mostly it was poetry but there were a few short stories in the mix as well. Sadly most of what i had written is lost somewhere never to be seen again but I still have some of the poetry.
The main reason I stopped writing is that there were some medical issues which came with prescription painkillers and when i read back what i wrote while I was on them it kind of turned me off writing for a while. Sadly i never got back into the groove after that. Well that is until now.
Its been a long time since I last wrote as I said so im taking things slow and looking around for places where i can pick up good tips and pointers and eventually get some feedback on what I manage to throw together.
Right now I have 2 novel ideas that id like to pursue but since im so out of practice I have decided to only work on one of them and take things very slowly at that. On the other hand I need to try and get back in the groove so I figured Id try my hand at turning the second novel idea into a short story and submitting it for the Francis MacManus Short Story Competition. Only a couple months until the deadline though. Guess i best get a move on with it.
